Hard rubbish and branches share two bookings
Manningham counts by calendar year, and a bundled branches booking uses one of the same two. It doesn’t publish a paid extra collection. You can cancel until 5pm on the Friday before.
- Pruning bundles: branches under 75 mm across and 1.5 m long, tied with cotton string or twine, in bundles up to 300 mm across.
- Single limbs or logs between 75 mm and 200 mm across and up to 1.5 m, free of branches and leaves; tree roots one person can lift.
- Not taken: large logs, stumps, timber, soil, fencing, and leaves, grass, weeds, ivy, bamboo and palms.
Garden waste disposal days
For Manningham residents in the bushfire prone area, Council runs free garden waste drop-off days at Mullum Mullum Reserve, Donvale. In 2026 they’re on Sunday 4 October, 8 November and 6 December, 8am to 4pm.
- Free: a car boot, station wagon or ute, or a level 6x4 trailer of branches, prunings and logs up to 250 mm across.
- Not taken: soil, grass clippings, building material and fence palings.
- No event on a total fire ban day, or a day of extreme fire danger or above. Check whether your home is in the bushfire prone area on VicPlan.
Where the rest can go
Manningham has no tip of its own. It lists four in other councils: Banyule (Bellfield), Whitehorse (Vermont South), Nillumbik (Plenty) and Knox (Wantirna South).
- Banyule’s centre, first on that list, isn’t taking rubble or e-waste during upgrades, as of October 2026: check its page before you go.
- Waste Drop Off Day: free for Manningham residents who register; in 2026 it’s on Saturday 17 October, 8am to 4pm. It takes e-waste, paint up to 10 litres, gas bottles, batteries, smoke alarms, fluorescent tubes and globes, and flattened cardboard.
- Household chemicals: the state’s free Detox Your Home events and drop-off sites. Asbestos: Manningham asks you to call it on 9840 9333.
When a skip makes more sense
Manningham’s hard rubbish won’t take joinery, cabinetry, renovation material, large logs or soil. A kitchen strip-out suits a builders skip (no asbestos or fibro); a bush-block clean-up of branches and logs suits a green waste skip, on your driveway when it suits you. Tell us about stumps first: they’re heavy.

Common questions
Can I report a neighbour’s hard rubbish that’s been left out?
Yes. Manningham lists a neighbour’s hard rubbish left on the nature strip for longer than two weeks among the dumped rubbish you can report to Council.
